Margaret & Matt

Golden Hour Magic @ Sudbury Wedding, Wellington

One of my favourite things about photographing weddings is getting to see couples who are super happy to throw tradition out the window and really celebrate their union in their own unique way.  Margaret and Matt’s wedding was exactly that and a little bit more! They had all their legal stuff confirmed the week before so their wedding day was reserved for FUN ONLY! The whole bridal squad got ready together in a beautiful house on the Kapiti Coast and enjoyed a relaxing picnic on the beach before the festivities began.

Just like their newly amalgamated last name, Topkins, Margaret and Matt’s wedding felt like a perfect combination of all things fun and personal. They brewed their own beer and cider mixes for the day. There was an awesome assortment of colourful bow ties and instructions on how to tie them. This entertained and bamboozled most guest for hours.  Every name card came with a personal note written by the bride and groom and displayed in tiny cat holders, a homage to their precious and particular persian fur babies. And of course with Margaret being a renowned kitchen goddess, everyone went home with their own homemade BBQ rib marinade. Spoiler alert: It was finger licking goood!

Oh and if that wasn’t enough they even hooked me up with gorgeous golden fields for the most amazing sunset photos ever.  Love it when my couples have my back 😉 Seriously though. Give me fun, authentic wedding celebrations like this all day every day. Have a scroll, you’ll see what I mean!
