Jessica + Matthew
Pulp Fiction Dance Goals at Matarangi Beach Wedding
Jess + Matt’s wedding day was a whole beach weekend vibe! The ultimate example of ditching the ‘supposed to’s’ & doubling down on the things that matter to you. Your day, your way, am I right?! For Jess and Matt that looked like a morning ceremony to calm the nerves, a cheeky quick 10 minute photoshoot, a quiet lunch break with the family and then everyone returning for a party to end all parties in the late afternoon. Alongside the non traditional timeline (which we love btw) there were so many special touches that made their wedding one of a kind. Jess’s very talented Nana made both her wedding dresses and her Dad catered the whole event and even manned the taco station at service time. They were married by their very dear friend Jaz, which made the ceremony even more personal and Jess sung with her girls after signing the register and to get the party started at the reception. AND THEN! they whipped out an iconic rendition of John Travolta and Uma Thurman’s Pulp Fiction dance scene for their first dance as a married couple with Uncle Steve turned DJ on the decks!
I know I say a lot of weddings were super fun (and they absolutely are! I have the best couples!) but this one really felt like I’d never go to another wedding quite like this again which is pretty darn magical in and of itself. You could tell every second of the day, that these two people not only show up for each other but for all the people in their expansive but incredibly close knit circle. Listening to the amazing speakers wax poetic about their genuine love and appreciation for them was so so special and anecdotes of their carefree, fun-loving yet competitive nature had the crowd in stitches. What a genuine treat to be in their orbit for this unique celebration.
Vendor love to Peninsula Party Hire for another epic marquee set up and their sweet as can be drinks caravan “Vinnie”.
