Emotion filled DIY wedding celebration @ Waihi Beach

An absolute tear fest in the very best of ways. Shaun + Savannah crafted a wonderful wedding celebration with so many creative personal touches. Savannah made her own boutiques and Shaun’s mum made their korowai. They both handpicked and dried all their confetti and handed it out in scoops made from pages of their shared favourite novel! The day was a total whānau affair with the reception at Athenree Homestead set up with guest favourite card games, a competitive kubb session, a DIY photobooth and a candy stand pick and mix. Make Your Day Events provided an awesome as marquee set up with bright florals and decorative birdcages and the delectable cake and mini bites by the one and only Made by Paige was to die for.

I loved the way we got to photograph this day so naturally and really focus on getting so many unique candid photos of all the guest enjoying each others company. We nailed the wedding portrait sessions too with a few stops to wander along Waihi beach together and a cheeky sun down frolic in the fields behind Athenree.
